Sondel Beach House Accommodation

Ground Floor

The ground floor, besides an adjoining double garage, comprises four double-sized en-suite bedrooms each with twin extra length single beds and overhead silent cooling fan. One of these rooms, any one of the four, can be configured into a king-size bed while one of the bedrooms has a special nook for a large baby’s cot (not provided but can be arranged). Two of these en-suite bedrooms have baths in addition to a shower, toilet and basin.

A kitchenette with microwave, kettle and refrigerator doubles up as a downstairs TV lounge that opens out onto a protected covered patio and overlooks a solar-heated private swimming pool. In close proximity is a boma with surround seating making for pleasant evening get-togethers around a cosy fire. Using this as an outside BBQ / braai area is a popular option. A large canter-levered umbrella provides shade on the pool deck.

Upper Floor

A large, spacious open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen is revealed when reaching the upper floor. Weather permitting the lounge can be opened up by stacking the fold-away glass doors to one or other side to create a large entertainment area that flows out onto the surrounding balcony. Included in the lounge is a flat-screen TV, NAD sound system, DVD player and the Explora and DSTV encoders.

The dining room table and chairs provides seating for 12. Two under-counter beverage coolers are within easy reach, so too a hostess food warmer. The fully equipped kitchen includes two combination Bosch Fridge / freezer units, microwave, electric as well as gas cooking hob and an electric oven. Ample crockery and cutlery allows for 18 persons to be catered for in one sitting. The centre island, which houses a reverse osmosis water filtering system and a preparation bowl also provides a serving and seating area for any overflow.

In the adjoining scullery are the usual appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and a chest freezer. A counter top ice-making unit is located in this scullery.

The main bedroom is on the upper floor, en-suite with full bathroom including a shower and a spa-bath. Should you wish to watch TV from the comfort of the bed, a TV is located in the cupboard behind a double swing door. This bedroom opens up to one of three upper deck terraces, each facing a different direction.

The sea facing balcony has a built-in gas barbeque. Sit back, relax, watch the ocean, be delighted by dolphins, whales when in season and on occasions orcas, from the sea facing balcony.

Minimum stays are negotiable depending on the occupancy of the home immediately prior to the intended day of arrival.
Electricity consumption at a daily rate of 110 Kwh per day are included in the above rates.

A fabulous holiday home, within walking distance of the pristine Plett beaches, perfectly situated in a quieter area of Plett. The home is very well thought out, each of the five rooms (one upstairs and four downstairs) are en-suite. The rooms downstairs share a TV-room that opens out onto an entertainment area, with a pool and large braai boma.Upstairs a large open plan kitchen / dining room and lounge is ideal for family and friends gathering. Three outside decks make it possible to find a spot in the either the morning or afternoon sun, and such a treat to view dolphins while enjoying breakfast or afternoon sun-downers from this very comfortable home.

We were totally overwhelmed by this luxurious beach house. It was amazing, with a perfect location! The facilities, bathrooms, bedrooms, bedding, living area, African paintings, kitchen, garage, garden, pool with boma and of course a magnificent view over Plettenberg Bay, Keurbooms, the Tsitsikamma mountains and the Robberg. With only 100m from the clean sandy beach one can quickly sip home for a snack or a visit to the bathroom. The sea water was crystal clear with good waves for body surfing or just swimming. We experienced no currents and could see so many fish in the waves. Beach walking or running is very safe, pleasant and not crowded. We obviously also enjoyed launching our Hobie Cat from the beach and sailing in the bay with good steady winds. The house is so well designed that there is always a calm spot sheltered from the wind, where one can sit reading or having a coffee. Sondel beach house is certainly commended.

An absolute brilliant holiday home in Plettenberg Bay. Spent a week in this well appointed home that would fit large groups and family gatherings. Easy and close access to some of the best beaches. Sunrises and watching dolphins from the balcony. Main entertainment area has space and full of natural light. And Solar power means no loadshedding woes.
